Oil Change at Home: How Mobile Oil Service Works in the Lower Mainland

An oil change is the simplest way to protect your engine, and the easiest thing to put off. Between work, school runs, and the wet weather, a trip to a shop and a wait in the lobby is often what gets skipped. A mobile oil change takes that out of the day: we come to you.

How often should you change your oil?

The right interval depends on your vehicle and the oil it uses. Your owner's manual is the best starting point, and many newer cars also have an oil-life monitor on the dash. Stop-and-go traffic, short trips, towing, and cold starts are harder on oil, so drivers in the Lower Mainland often fall into the "severe use" schedule. Signs your oil is overdue

• The oil change or maintenance reminder is on
• The engine sounds louder or rougher than usual
• The oil on the dipstick is very dark or gritty
• You have gone past the interval in your manual or on the sticker
• The oil pressure or check engine light came on

If the oil pressure light comes on while you are driving, pull over safely and turn the engine off. Then call us.

What happens during a mobile oil change

1. You call with your vehicle's year, make, and model, and where it is parked.
2. We come to your driveway, workplace parking lot, or another safe, accessible spot.
3. We drain the old oil, replace the filter, and refill with the right oil for your engine.
4. We check the oil level and look over the basics while we are there.
5. You get a clear explanation of what we did and anything worth keeping an eye on.

What to have ready

• A level, safe spot to work, such as a driveway or parking stall
• The keys, and the wheel-lock key if your car has one
• Your last service date, if you know it
• Any symptoms you have noticed, so we can check them at the same visit

You skip the drive, the waiting room, and the lost half-day. The car stays where you need it, and the job gets done while you work, take a call, or get on with your day. It also works well for work vans and company vehicles, where downtime costs money.
